Sounds

Denaturized Christmas carols
hounding your brains out,
too much drum beats, too little melody.
A cohort of nervous,
puzzled dogs barking even louder.

The always drunk neighbor
shouting and cursing at the same hour,
heating your adrenaline till the point of boiling.
Saw and hammer screeches
scratching your overloaded brain.

All of a sudden, a miracle
lasting about an hour:
the perfect sound of silence.
Slowly, familiar, nostalgic images
are squeezing pleasantly.

North wind shivering at your door,
windows or ventilation tubes
crying like a puppy trying to sneak in to warm up.
Cracks of logs in the fireplace or
a dreamed jingle of Christmas bell.

As a dream, the sweet murmur of the sea
holding the moon in its hands
tenderly caressing the warm and sleepy shore
is unconsciously tempering the heat,
extinguishing the sorrow.

A familiar voice, velvet-like inflections
of perfect harmonic words,
gracefully prolonged letters as an invitation,
tickling gently the chords
of yet to come memories.

Sweet vibrations cuddling the ears,
softening the frozen soul,
melting, making the heart flourish like a rosebud,
touching the strings of life,
starting a tune remembering the thrill of love.
